Le Cinq Codet Paris – Art Inspired Art Deco Hotel

Le Cinq Codet Paris – Art Inspired Art Deco Hotel

It has been five years since I have been in Paris and what a beautiful way to come into this amazing city for Paris Fashion Week: Men. I am staying at Le Cinq Codet Hotel which is superbly placed in the heart of one of Paris’s most sophisticated neighborhoods in 7th arrondissement. It is located almost next to Hôtel national des Invalides, which is the building that houses three different museums but is most notably known as the burial site of Napoleon Bonaparte. The hotel is also within walking distance of Champ De Mars, the park that of which the Eiffel Tower is part of.

Housed within the former France Telecom Art Deco style building from the 1930s it has been masterfully restored by acclaimed French designer Jean-Phillipe Nuel. Le Cinq Codet offers vast spaces, a feeling of cosy simplicity and its 67 bedrooms evoke a unique and artistic loft experience.

Art Inspired Art Deco Hotel

From the moment you walk in this Art Deco building it is all about art and design. From modern designed furniture, art pieces all around the hotel and beautifully designed lights, this hotel is a must if you want something different. The combination of it all combined with the generous use of wood gives this hotel a great ambiance. I also love the floor to ceiling bay windows in the reception area, it gives the hotel a lot of light.

The Reception Area. I love the light wood and the enormous wooden lamp shades.

Duplex Room

The room I stayed in was a Duplex Room designed as a Parisan loft, the Duplex rooms are stunning and like the reception area with a lot of windows the let through a lot of day light. In Paris this is unique to have so much natural light in one space. The design theme is consistent here with light wood, lots of light, stunning design furniture and wall art. This room has the benefit of a 5.5 meter high ceiling which gives you a very spacious living quarter, which you can look down from the bed area which is housed upstairs in the duplex. The room size is 30 m2 but it feels much bigger due to its height, it is perfect for 2 people and it has a queen size bed, sofa and nice desk area to work from. For me bed linen is important for a good night rest and the goose feather down pillows with duvet bedding and sheets ended up me having a luxurious night rest before the start of Paris Fashion Week: Men. I work a lot in the rooms so twice-daily housekeeping service is an added bonus here.

The Bathroom

The bath is upstairs next to the bed but the bathroom with shower is on the ground level. The toiletries are by Fragonard VRAI.

The Gadgets

I like when you walk into a room and it’s really easy to use the facilities. Having two TV’s is handy when you’re staying on two levels. I also liked the phone in fact it took me while to find it as I thought I was looking at an iPod which turned out to be the phone. Being here for Paris Fashion Week: Men internet has to be fast and working at all times, which was bliss for me too. The do not disturb button is quirky and very clear to anyone walking down the corridor. Those huge red lights make it clear that Gracie is working so don’t come in.

Do not disturb lights – yes that is the big light up there.

Breakfast

With so much planning going on this week, running around to showrooms and catwalks, I ordered in room service breakfast. It takes about 30 mins to prepare but it is very handy. I ordered organic eggs omelet style, a selection of bread and pastries and of course coffee. The coffee was because I used all my Nespresso cups that were in my room.

If not eating in your room the restaurants setting inside and outside are also great and worth visiting. But the indoor restaurant and the outdoor eating area have a lovely setting and are very stylish indeed. There are heaters for outdoor sitting and it has a good atmosphere too.

The Staff

From the moment I walked in the look of the staff uniforms were already a good sign that Le Cinq Codet is a place of style both in interior design and clothing. The guys looked confident and were proud walking around in this hotel, yes uniforms can give you that power.

Conclusion

Le 5 Codet is a beautiful art and design hotel in a great restored Art Deco building. It is in small boutique hotels like this is where you get the cutting edge of design together with a more personal and friendly service. The hotel is situated in a perfect location to see some of Paris best tourist attractions on foot, it is also 200 meters away from the Paris Metro system.
