Suit Fabric

To find the right suit fabric for you, there are many factors to take into consideration, especially the season. There are different cloths and fabrics that work better in varying weather conditions and we look at what could work for you: Most modern suits are made of wool. It is an extremely versatile fabric which can be worn all year round. Wool has a fantastic ability to absorb moisture, meaning that even when you wear the suit in the heat of summer, you will still feel cool. Flannel is a heavy fabric which does not breathe much, meaning it keeps you nice and warm in the winter months. Flannel was worn more in the past though there are still flannel suits out there. Cotton is an extremely durable fabric and whilst many European men don’t favour it, the Americans love it.

Cotton can, like wool, absorb sweat, leaving you cool in the hotter months and tends to be worn all year round except the coldest months! A linen suit is extremely lightweight, it’s downfall being that it creases easily. It is often work on holiday and only during hot weather, to give the wearer a less heavy garment to wear. This is summer wear.
