Winter Accessories for Men – Sunglasses, Scarves and Gloves

Accessories for Men

Sometimes cool weather clothing needs a little help to look even cooler. Adding the right sunglasses, scarves, and gloves can greatly increase your look and all make great gifts for Christmas, Hanukkah, and even birthdays. Here’s what we used for a cold day during the holidays.

Sunglasses in Winter

When you think of sunglasses you think of summer sun, but winter has sunny days too. It’s important to protect your eyes year-round…and look good of course. If you don’t already have an assortment of eyewear we suggest picking up a pair in black. You can build up from there and get a pair of brown as we have here. They’re still a neutral colour, but slightly more specific and very stylish with the aviator frame. When shopping for sunglasses, go to any popular department store like Macy’s to get a wide range of designer frames from Ray-Ban to Prada. If you can afford to spend a little extra, invest in polarized lenses for reduced glare.

Scarf in Style

A good scarf is never too far. The one we used is multicoloured with autumn tones so it will go well with anything with a similar colour. As long as you find a scarf with a complimentary colour to your overall look, you’ll be in good shape. You can even get a scarf in that dreaded fabric called acrylic! We’re using an acrylic scarf here and it works. Mainly because it keeps the neck warm and scarves aren’t overused to the point of needing a wash, meaning the acrylic fabric won’t deteriorate. Scarves range from dirt cheap to greatly expensive, but they all do the same thing. Our advice would be not to spend too much unless you’re in love with a particular brand.  We suggest perusing the scarf collection at Banana Republic. They have a fantastic collection of thin, stylish scarves, and thick, winter scarves and there’s never a day in which they don’t have some sort of sale so you can get the best price.

Gloves, Give Love to Your Hands

Lastly, gloves are a winter staple. We prefer the skinnier driving glove to the bulky work glove, but unfortunately, it’s hard to find them in men’s styles. Have no fear, for Armani Exchange always has a great selection of the sleeker gloves in black and brown every winter so you can look almost as cool as James Bond.

Armani Exchange gloves cost $56 and while that may seem expensive in comparison to a host of other gloves you can get under $40, you’re guaranteed good quality.

Sunglasses, scarves, and gloves give our winter outfits longevity and variation. If you’re looking for a small gift for someone, think of picking up one of these items. If you’re looking for yourself, think of picking up all three. Time for your cool weather clothes to come up!
