Jigsaw Menswear for AW13
It was only last week that I first visited a Jigsaw store, having been invited to its Christmas gathering with MenStyleFashion editor Gracie Opulanza. However, next thing I know I’m standing in the Spitalfields store shooting a very well known model wearing its Autumn/Winter men’s collection and meeting the seniors involved in the business. Jigsaw is a fashion brand, launched 1972 and has been growing and expanding ever since. Jigsaw began as a womenswear label, dipping into the world of menswear in the mid nineties, dropping the MW post-millenium and it has just launched again as of May 2012. Womenswear is a new addition to the Spitalfields store, but Marco, the store manager is correct in saying that the focus of that particular store is still menswear. MenStyleFashion was given exclusive access to its Spitalfields store to see its men’s collection for Winter – and it was impressive.
Friendly-Faced Men’s Fashion
It is with warm hearts and open hands that we were welcomed into the store, and it was an absolute pleasure to shoot the AW13 menswear collection by Jigsaw, which focused mostly on the usual darker shades – burgundies, browns and blacks – with a hint of Jigsaw originality by the inclusion of a snow white jacket. This statement piece will be a real indicator as to where men’s fashion is heading this season, and its success will lead the way in the brand’s originality with its Spring/Summer 2014 collection, as well as providing a great piece for this winter’s predicted weather.
Marco, Store Manager at the Spitalfields branch of Jigsaw, was dressed in style when we visited, and shows us how gracefully a subtle hint of tartan can be incorporated into a man’s suit, in keeping with the latest Autumn/Winter trends that were revealed to us at the last London Collections: Men. We interviewed Marco, which will be published very soon – so keep your eyes on this space.
For the majority of men, a stylish outfit is something that is sought after and quite often troubled over – what jacket to wear, what colours match, which shoes are right for the occasion? However, Jigsaw is a longstanding, reputable label that makes it that much easier to choose the right set of clothes.
A simple touch – such as this scarf (below) gives your man-style that extra hint of care and attention that’s all-so-important when trying to impress the girls, looking nice for your partner or simply wanting to feel good about what you’re wearing. It’s important to note that your style is what you make of it, and keeping it plain, with a patterned scarf or other ‘statement’ accessory is certainly on-trend this winter season for men.
Stress-Free Men’s Fashion
All in all, Jigsaw is a great company with a men’s collection to match. For guys who aren’t sure about what to wear, or who just want to update their wardrobe for the new season and keep up with the winter weather, Jigsaw is certainly a recommended brand from me.
