I am a very experienced skier and have experienced some of the best resorts in the world. So when it comes to ski hire, I would recommend that for those coming to ski here after the Olympics is to bring your own. Again, it’s all about down to how much of a luxury experience you want to create before or after the Winter Olympics. One exciting option was that I could ski until 4:30am. Yes, it was very cool to do this. So make sure to schedule some time at night to do this. The snow was different from what I am used to but all in all, it was a fabulous experience.
2018 Pyeongchang House – Olympic Promotion Hall
I was taken to this Ski Museum also called the 2018 Pyeongchang Hall. When I turned up I was greeted with impressive buildings. I learnt so much about the whole process of preparation for the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympics, including the construction overview of the venues. One of my highlights was the 4D Experience room. The social media marketing message was #passionconnected.
Wolijeoongsa Temple
The Wolijeoongsa Temple is famous for its for forest trail, a 1km long section from Lljumun Gate to the temple. The trail offers walkers glimpses into the land of Buddha. During my short stay here I learnt how to make a set of prayer beads. Consisting of 108 beads the Buddhist prayer beads are traditional tools used to count the number of times a mantra or prayer is recited.
Ojukheon & Municipal Museum ( Gangneung )
I was taken to this place and it was intriguing to see what they call Ojukheon which refers to an abundance of black bamboo. The houses here were one of the oldest in South Korea. Again make sure you give yourself plenty of time to explore this.
The Night Of Pyeongchang
During my stay, we were shown glimpses of what to expect during the Winter Olympics regarding opening and closing ceremonies. It was amazing to watch these women perform traditional cultural musical performances and dances.

The Winter Olympics Pyeongchang 2018 will be an event for those willing to explore a new area in South Korea. The Pyeongchang committee is dedicated to the cause and will host what I think will be the most technological Olympics to date. Now only #1yeartogo I am excited to experience the end result. The food, the culture and the facilities in the short time I was in Pyeongchang showed me a clear message. That no mountain is too high.
