TOPMAN is one of the UK’s leading male fashion houses. We couldn’t get an invite to its London Collections: Men 2013 show, so we thought we would go to the store instead. As MenStyleFashion is all about representing the man on the street, we thought it best to get some forthright information about what the man on the high street is thinking when it comes to style. Tara, the supervisor working in TOPMAN, talks us through some buying habits that she has noticed men have when it comes to FASHION.
It seems that knitwear, denim and texture is a hot favorite for 2013 and Tara has recognised that, now any man walking through the store’s doors knows exactly what he is there to buy. He follows his own sense of style by mixing and matching many pieces to get a look that represents who he is. And more importantly knows how and what to mix together.
Super Premium Suits
I am noticing that TOPMAN is now using premium Italian fabrics such as super 120’s mohair, pique weave textured wool, two tone and Prince of Wales check. The Super Premium collection features luxurious linings, functional cuffs, side adjusters and half lined trousers to give a bespoke look and elegant feel. Having a valuable discussion within TOPMAN at Ben Sherman. He noted its male customers are now looking for quality and comfort but still staying within safe boundaries when it comes to picking a suit. Recognising that the Ben Sherman label represents the young businessman, its sell-out outfit is the fitted grey suit and thanks to James Bond, we’ll probably be seeing grey as the statement colour of the season for suits.
TOPMAN – Covent Garden & Spitalfields
The Covent Garden and Spitalfields TOPMAN branches have a range of collections that can only be found specifically within its stores. We visited TOPMAN‘s second general gtore, based in the heart of Covent Garden on Earlham Street. Featuring both smart and casual areas, the carefully selected products take on a contemporary feel, very much resembling the aesthetics of the location. The layout of the shop is well suited to a man and makes for a pleasant experience when roaming around the shop. When speaking with the store manager at Covent Garden TOPMAN, it was very clear that he knew every element involved in styling the modern man. This is what I call valuable customer service. So, we suggest that, if you need a new direction for your wardrobe then head on down to Covent Garden’s and be sure to ask for Carl!
