5. Guoliang Tunnel Road, China
The Guoliang Tunnel is etched along the side of and through a mountain in China. It may be hard to identify from the photo but this road was hollowed out of the side of the landscape by several workers from the local village of Guoliang. Before the formation of this route, the village was effectively cut off from the rest of civilization by its surrounding cliffs. Although the road doesn´t get heavily used, its sheer construction is perilous on even the quietest of days.
