Flapper Style

The slangy word ‘flapper’ or ‘flap’ was used in the 1920s to describe fashionable young women in her early twenties or late teens that was wearing short skirts, bobbed hairstyles and listened to jazz music. Flappers used a lot of make-up, were drinking, smoking, driving cars and having casual sex without being married. The typical flapper style, also called ‘Twenties Styles’ were highly tailored suits, long-waist shirts and coats with huge fur collars. The hairstyle back at the time was a short, sharp, severe side parting. This style is also commonly known as ´20´s style.´
